gulp ?

Same as ordering a seafood paiella or platta and getting a plate full of \"crab flavoured fish sticks\". Incidentally, has anyone used crabsticks for bait?

Flippin\' \'Eck........I thought I was in the chatroom for a minute, there.......lol

Never really tried any of these aartificial baits, but I have heard mixed reports on them. Some swear by them and reckon they can be better than the real thing - others just swear.

I did try the addative, Ultrabite a few years ago - other than making my hands and tackle bag stink to high heaven, it resulted in no difference what-so-ever.

I\'m with Graham on this.........if you\'re using bait - use the real thing.

Noticed in TSF this month an article on Gulp.
Haven\'t had time to read it yet but from a glance they seemed to be pushing them.

prefer to stick with what works for hook and sinker fishing,Lug,crab, squid, razor etc etc.never heard of one of these man made baits yet that works

I got a selection of Gulp artificials off ebay a while back for next to nowt, but I\'ve never had the chance to try them yet. They do seem to be well made and have internal rattles and are scent impregnated, so I don\'t see why they shouldn\'t work if spun for pollack, mackerel etc

I have given a handful of them to Jonny Mc for his trip to Whithorn, so we\'ll see if they work when he gets back ;)

Them crabsticks are a bugger to keep on the hook, and never seem to catch owt anyway.

I`ve tried most of the artificial baits on the go, and the only one to work was fish`n`strips when the whities are on the go, they love `em.

just got in from along days fising tried gulp early morning at the ramp at cambois. no joy. not even a bite and nothing with peeler and rag.
went up to lynmouth lrft hand side of hot water pipe fished with rag and the £1 peeler crabs a few good knocks caught 2 small coalie, 1 1lb coalie and a 1lb ish flattie all on fresh bait. when fresh bait was gone tried a two hook rig wityh gulp, peeler on one rag the other, didn,t even catch weed over an hour with it and nowt. it going in the bin!
