Had to get fishing 1/5/12

Well i have been around boats most of my life and been a boat owner for over 5 years now and consider myself to have alot of knowledge now regarding most aspects of NE boat fishing.

Everything about me said dont go out fishing today but i just needed to wet aline due to the forecast at the weekend looking NE winds again...so off i went.

I guess the tell tail sign was waiting on the fuel pontoon for fuel

But i put that out my mind and headed into a not so good sea..

The bar looked extra tricky today

Once out at sea it was rather rough and the only toher boat i could see was the harbour master goint out to get a ferry in.

I guess the people on that ferry may of been abit sea sick

Anyway i fished away over the inshore wrecks but kept hitting the hull of the boat off the wreck then my head off the moon when up and down the troffs so i decided to try a few hours at Arthurs wreck doing abit of anchor work,

Still no fish so decided to head back in, never used much fuel as the waves carried me in at 40knots

So all in all it was a rough day at sea but beat some of the days of late, fingers crossed for the enxt weekend.

Yer it filled in a few hours and i kept one or two of the pan size cod for tea, put the bigger ones back as not good eating really.

i'm pleased to see someone actually making the effort, a spot of bad weather and most are oooooo a bit iffy to get out...lets wait till next weekend

Aye the boredoms really setting in here as well .....

I see the forecasts at lunchtime had the weekend in a lull or even a westerly .. but then they re-issued it this afternoon and its back tio a forecast easterly again ... ho hum.

On the long sands web cam i think that kite surfer may need some help, he has been put in the air in the same spot for about the last 3 hours, i hope he went to the lou for a number 2 before he got into his wet suit

I never caught any Alan but i seen them, at first i though they flying fish then i worked out it was just them trying to die as they are sick of the NE rollers
