Am posting this on behalf of a pal of mine. He comes from north Scotland and is having a week at Haggerston Castle starting 29th July. He is after some decent nearish shore marks.

Any ideas will be appreciated - cheers team :)

I would tell him to try Eyemouth area Snatcher. If the sea is calm it doesn\'t get much better mate. If he is after a bit of sport from the beach there are plenty of good beaches to try for flatties in that area.

Snatcher,

Goswick beach, access from Goswick Golf club, Flounder, Turbot, Bass all possible.Use fish baits for the flats, worms for the Bass.

Berwick Pier , fish from the end, casting towards Spittall, over HW for Mackerel but only on the bigger tides,

Berwick Holiday park, down the steps onto the beach, walk north and fish into the kelp over LW for codlings and coallies.

Seal Carrs, walk past the holiday park in Berwick heading North, get down to sea level at a convenient point. All this ground here is very rough and produces some really good Wrasse from the shore, keep the rigs simple and fish a rotton bottom set up. i have lost more fish here than I have landed.

Burnmouth, fish the gullies south of the harbour over LW and into the flood, if it\'s calm enough expect a few codlings from here on crab baits. Also a good mark for rocklings and other small stuff.

Eyemouth, anywhere here will produce, Cod from the kelp, mackerel from the points and pollock on lures around the fringes.

Christ, this looks like an extract from seal strangler.... :D

Hope it helps

Neil.
