Hall Beach 18/10

Tried today, 2 up 2 down was the plan, but as the wind strengthened from the south it brought rafts of weed and I was the only one daft enough to be fishing after the top of the tide.
A few decent whiting made it an interesting session but frustrating to get weeded off when the sea looked so good. Whiting all swam off safely.

You weren't the only one daft enough. There was another daft one...me. I started off on the North end & had a cod first cast just size, then went along the South end to avoid the weed. It wasn't as bad there, but it got worse. I gave up at about 7. Only had 1 more really small codling.

The weed did get bad didn't it mate, was that something that always happens with a wind from the south like that? I have fished the Hall quite a few times and never had that problem before. I think other times the wind was more from the North.

The Hall can be a nightmare for weed after early season seas, more than once I've had to sack a session after a couple of casts then ended up on Roker or Shields instead to escape the stuff
