Hall Beach - 3 Nov

Fished the Hall Beach towards the North end of the prom from 4.30pm until 8.30pm. There were a few people down but given the flat state of the sea it wasn't surprising that it was relatively quiet. Didn't expect too much but actually had quite a bit of activity. Finished up with 2 codling (first for the year), biggest just under 3lb, and 7 whiting of which 5 were size. The two codling and 2 biggest whiting came of slack line bites. Probably would have ended up with more if the bait hadn't run out! Baits used were lug, rag, razor and mackerel. All in all a very pleasureable session.

I didn't see any other fish coming in - to be honest there were very few at the North end of the prom - the majority were right at the South end. I'm sure if I caught fish the others on the beach would have as well lol! It just shows you though that there are fish there even in flat calm conditions and relatively close in to shore. Just pleased I chose the Hall rather than Roker which was the other possible venue.

There are some damn big whiting about this year! Had a few myself... almost makes targetting cod a waste of time if you can take a few of those big whiting...... almost.... but not quite ;)

Well done mate!
Great shot the hall!
I like it best on a big tide with a big sea washing over onto the prom.
But it can fish in a flat calm as well, also sometimes fishes low water with a big sea humping in. If you can dodge the weed!
