As far as I know there's only one "Q" rod - the Q3. It's a slimmer & lighter version of the P3 casting weight-wise, but is also more through actioned and not as stiff as the P3, so may not be as suited to really rough ground, more mixed / light-rough I'd say, but that's just me…I'm not really a fan of through-actioned rods, I prefer something with a stiffer butt and a crisp, tip-action. Some people do seem to prefer the Q3 though - it all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day and what you're looking for in a rod.

watch your p,s & q,s gary very imformative but the only thing i would add is the q3 has got quite a stiff butt not many anglers will be able to get into it parden the expression lol just my opinion

Yeah, got to admit I've never used the Q3 in anger, only had a waggle of one (which doesn't really tell you a lot!) - I know some say it's maybe a nicer rod to cast than the P, but anything vaguely through-actioned has always put me off a bit due to a slower recovery and I like a bit of oomph in the mid section when fishing in the kelp etc.

A lot pokier than an SS, closer to a TTR power-wise, but with a different action and a lot more "feel" to it (more like a Zziplex) - I always found the heavy-end Centuries a bit "numb" to cast, for want of a better word. (Unlike their Tip Tornado which I really liked).

thanks again , I suppose a lot has to do with ones own bodyweight and strength too , I didn't really like the ss when casting , I found id lose the feel of where the lead was 3/4 into the cast , but when it came over it didn't half punch the lead out , I maybe should have given it more time tbh . it would be good if tackle shops came with a field so we can try before we buy . thanks for all the info anyways .

That was my gripe with the SS (and the TTR) - they kind of lost touch with the lead when doing any kind of swing, otherwise I thought the SS was pretty nice, but opted not to by one. The others I had (TTR & Eliminator) were certainly the business on the retrieve & rough grounding, but the Eliminator in particular I found tiring to use, probably due to it's extra length. Great, rugged build quality on the Centuries too.
Having had a few Centuries & Zziplexes, the best way I can describe the Harrison to someone who hasn't used one is that they have a similar, rugged build to a Century but more feel like a Zziplex when casting; whilst they're a bit heavier than the Zzippies I'd say they're not quite as heavy as the Centuries, but maybe that's more down to balance (and I'd say better bite detection than the Centuries too). The one thing you can guarantee is that everyone's opinion will be different

He dosent get on here much stan,this time of year is normally busy but at the moment he's run off his feet in the shop plus he's got more Torrixs blanks to build that you can shake a stick at.
