Hartley/Cambois

Me and a mate went out for a few hours this afternoon, with the conditions we didnt expect much. First we tried Hartley, we only had a couple of bites to show. After 3 hrs we moved to cambois hole. There were people coming off the rocks saying only small stuff. The tide was well on its way in by then, so we set up in the far left corner. First cast literally 20 seconds, bang! my mates rod starts going mad. he pulls in a nice red cod 4lb 7oz. After that it was just small knocks. I got hung up by what seemed a canny one, but nothing else. Bait used was lug and mussel.

Nice one man. Wish I could get a nice cod! Where is Cambois Hole? Is that off the first rocks you come to straight in front of the ramp or is it further towards the pier?

park near the pier use the first set of ladders down walk straight infront of yourself slightly to the left,,good mark whatever the tide,,,dont aim for the windmills in the sea aim straight out or 1 ish the mills will be about ten elevenish best go down low water you will see what i mean and fish the flood up quite safe ona small tide as today

Thanks for that info guys. Might check it out in daylight as I usually fish alone and dont wanna get cut off at night. Seems like there has been quite a few codling taken from there recemtly.

Well done mate, nice codling. You won't get cut off fishing Cambois Hole, just pushed back towards the pier, but once the tide's flooded a bit you'll be wanting to leave anyway as you'll soon get the water coming in, and the rocks are pretty flat.

Cheers, Gary :)
