Hasvag Fitid Flatanger region Norway.

Cheers lads. For any one planning a trip i would contact Ian from Din Tur for prices.

We originally had 8 in our group but over the months it whittled down to 3. Ideal for hire car but bit pricier for chalet.

As i recall i paid 50 deposit. 340 ish balance. Flights cost 250 plus 70 for tube. Fuel for car was 40 each. Cost of food over there expensive but not to bad as i had packaged foods so only about 65. My mate took his car to airport and he put his rods in my tube. Cost of parking for week was 30.

Rough round figure of 800 i would say. (bought 5kg bluey 9 packs over here and took in case in cooler bag).

Allowed 23 kilo for case and 20 kilo for tubes hand luggage 12 kilo,(should have took Karrimore rucksack like chut)-tight but managed. Garys squad left us some bluey in the freezer which helped out a lot.

Baits direct may be a better option and deliver to location.

Cheers Mick.

excellent report lads and crackin pictures shame about the rain but that's fishing for ya still ya caught some nice fish especially a PB welldone to ya all:D

Hi Mick, a trip to Norway is certainly on my to-do list in the near future.
I am interested in the logistics of how you got everything there. What sort of tube did you use? Did you just turn up with it at the airport and pay the extra?
Was the amount of bait you took about right and did it thaw before you got there? Is there large freezers to keep a lll your bait in? You mentioned Baits Direct, do they delivery to Norway? Is Bluey the only bait you used?

The tubes are called bazookas. They are no bigger than ski tubes. Cost about 50 quid. When you book your flight you pay extra for the tube. It cost me 35 quid each way and i was allowed 20kilos wieght. Thats quit a lot so my mate put his rods and stand in and we had abut 30 sinkers in a plastic tube inside as well.
I took four packets of frozen blacks and nine packs of frozen bluey and couple of frozen mackeral in a cooler bag which was in my case. This wieghed 5kilos. Total wieght of case is 23 kilos so it can be tight when you are trying to fit everything in but it is possible.Bait stayed frozen until we reached location.
We ran short of bait but fortunatly lads who had been before us had left some bluey. There was also Herring.
Baits direct do deliver and i will be looking at this for my next trip. However if i manage to get hire of boat wil be using lots more lures.
Bluey is fantastic bait and there is no reason you need anything else. Mind i caught my flatty on blacks and mackeral.
Slipped up by taking a small rucksack as allowed 12kilo inside and i should have bought bigger and put wellies inside like chut did.
Mick.

Another option would be to fly with norweigen air from Manchester cost of flights came to 240 but this included 2x 20kg cases 1x 10kg hand luggage tube was extra 25 each way allowing 15kg I had 2 rods 1 stand 30 6oz grips 8 chocky bars 5 super noodles and coffee in tube and it came to 14kg lol

Well done lads.

Well done lads.

Brilliant report Mick, sounds like you had a great time, well done on the doubler and the variety of species caught. Photo's are great too. I'm really pleased everything went well. Suppose every flounder over 30cm is a halibut now! watch the Wear get cleared :D

David sinkers lasted all week. When you get to fish regular rock mark you can work out where less snaggy spots are. Where i lost the big Cod and Chut got his Halibut i lost no sinkers in long session.
One thing about fishing from deep water marks is there seems to be lots of ridges a few metres out into the really deep water and these can be a nightmare using two hook flappers. Its a case of working out best spots and it does,nt take long mate. You can see the ridges as water that clear in some places.
I brought 7 sinkers back and Ian J brought over a dozen. Chut was down to his last few.
We all had 25-30 sinkers and fished on average for 12 hrs a day on at least three look outs.
Fishing high up into very deep water is a great advantage as sinker does not drag along rocks and kelp. If you get a good fish its easy for a pal to climb down and get it for you.
Mick.
