Fished Crisps Gully about 2 hours before and 2 hours after today. Manage 3 different species. Took a pouting 1st, then a codling and then a wrass. Both pouting and codling came on crab and the wrass went for the rag. Lost a load of weights using the rotton bottoms but they did their job and brought in the fish. Not a bad day out...

It was fairly murky and started to get a little choppy when the tide got right in. The biggest was probably the wrass. Didn't have scales but I'd say it was round the 2lb mark. The codling was probably a 1lb and a half and I'd say the pouting was about the same, maybe slightly bigger. Am surprised no one has asked for video evidence of me actually reeling them in yet! That sounds like a nice fishing sesh in a cracking location mate, well done.
Spark plugs or 1" BSW nuts spring to mind regarding the end gear:D:D

Looks like you had a good little sesh there i was fishing there 2 weeks ago just caught the bottom not even a bite. Were you fishing in the channel or casting towards the sea to the left of the big rock ?

I feel it tends to fish better as the tide is on its way in and on the turn, soon as it goes out though u may aswell pack up. I was castin straight out north just left of the rock, that's where I caught the pouting and codling. Then I turned directly into the gully on the turn and pulled I the wrass. Saying that my m8s turned up as the tide was goin out and one pulled in a small coallie and the other lad pulled in a codling after I left so there must be fish kickin about the majority of the time.

I have had wrasse and loads of codling out of the channel but found a clean patch of ground left of the rock at distance but the tides were **** and the gully had pot line running throught the middle of it and i kept catching it but apart from that had a canny day out just not as good as you lads.
