Headed out for the day today for one more pike session before the new year and a good thing we did.
Arrived about 8.30am and had the boat in the water by 9. My mate had the first fish of 20lb by 9.3am followed by my 22lber then an 18. Best days fishing ever just a shame we had to come home

2 Crackers there lads,well done.
Make the most of them, as our Eastern european friends are wiping them out in a lot of the lochs.

Bushwacker, I've removed set lines from the loch you have mentioned. I was out in the boat a few years ago and spotted them.

20lb+ pike are a very rare specimen fish, especially for an angler living in the north East of England. We have very few waters around us that contain these specimens and pike are very delicate fish.

Killing pike is normally done for people to eat, who poach these fish to sell or consume themselves. These are normally Eastern European,
Secondly, bad handling pike is a sure killer to, novices fishing who are afraid to handle, don't have the correct unhooking gear and/or gut hooking fish.

The above make finding and catching these fish extremely difficult.
