Thinking of buying a tiga headlamp but got my eye on a Speleo Nightraider.

Has any one got one of these headlamps if so are they any good.

Thanks

I've got a Tiga and a Nova 3, the Nova is the best in my opinion just as bright as a Tiga but no battery pack around your waist. Especially helps when wearing waders you dont have to strip off when taking a leak. Nova uses latest LED technology so you have to pay the price.

Get a Tiga but use a harness (over the shoulder) to hold the battery. A lot easier than strapping it around your waist. Great piece of kit for the money.

Thank you tiga it is

tryed alot of headlamps most are fine for the beach but are not powerfull enough for the rocks.

Try it with a harness and a belt, much better. I used to use just the belt and found the harness was better, with both it is better again.

Jim.

Nice tip Jim.

I was tempted by one of the Titan harnesses, but then I made one out of the shoulder strap off my old big camera bag. Works very well for nothing!:)

nova three mate.light as a feather battery pack on the rear of the headpiece,no cables etc and the battery lasts about 4 full days which i tried and left it on as an experiment last year.each to there own though

The Titan harness comes with a belt and a shoulder strap (and a NESA patch stitched on the front). You can buy direct if you're local as he's only in the factory units behind the ASDA at Boldon.

Sorry to but in on the thread, i know the Tiga is supposed to be bright, but how bright are they really ?

Ive never seen one in action, ive got a miners lamp head piece with a 6v halogen bulb in and a small 6v 10 a/h sealed battery, anyone any idea how much brighter the Tiga would be ?

Cheers.

Bri the normal light is plenty when charged and the spotlight really helps you get off dark marks when you're by yourself. I had a look at a few different lamps before I went for it after a couple of scares when my old one let me down.

Might be a bigger battery but it gives me piece of mind. Keep a cheap LED in the box now for back-up. Used it only last week when my battery went down. As some of the others have said I find the Titan harness helps.
