Fished 2 up, 3 down. Poop. Crabbed off. Had a minor disaster too. First cast on the big rod, whole squid stuffed with mussel on a Hawaii 5-0 pennel running ledger, out about 20 mins, tap ...tap... Lunge....so I picked the rod up and struck felt the weight of something then everything went light as my line snapped at the second ring up from the reel. I watched the line blowing in the breeze thinking.... Has that really just happened? I'm guessing the line was badly frayed, kinked or something. No other bites all night on the big rod or scratching with lug n rag.. Gutted.

Had a cod from the same place before crimbo on yellows n razor, 5lb 2oz. Here's a pic of that one anyway

Oh, nice meeting the chap fishing down from me with the Dog that kept eating the rotten crabs. Hope it didn't empty it's guts in your car on your way home! Lol

best part of the river that ,, used to love fishing walker ferry landing had some great sessions but hence now no access

Good gannin mate. Well done for getting one that size out the River, they've been few and far between this year. U must if hit te thing on the nose!

i did the full squid stuffed with frozen blacks with wd 40 at the weekend on a pully clipped down rig with 25 lb trace felt the pull then gone when i wound in the both hooks where gone not the weight looked like something bite straight throu line, did same for a few hours and nothing most baits comming back in some had crab muchin , at the time i thought probs crab or lob cut through line ?

nice to meet u too pal, lucky for me she was fine,went back there ladt night and blanked again, luckily for me and the dog the fox that I saw last night down there wasnt around on sat night othrrwise I couldve been without a dog, wouldnt wanna try n explain that when I got home lol
