helipad jarrow 26/12/11 lost a pig

fished the helipad at jarrow last 3 hours of flood going was very slow tonight but had 2 belting flounders out both well over 1lb8oz. then an hour before top i got the tiniest of bites, picked my rod up and wallop good fish on, very good fish, stayed deep couldn't manage to bully it to the top of the water, the inevitable happened snagged up tried for a couple of minutes to free it then it came loose but snagged me up again within 10yds this time the line parted frayed to bits, hard to estimate size when i didn't see it but it was an extremely good fish. no more bites. baits used blacks, runnydown and prawns.

Lost a nice fish on Thursday, from the north bank next to the Royal Quays. Very little you can do really. It stayed on the bottom all the way in and picked up some loose line en route. Big lunges started when it got
closer in, wouldn't budge off the snag though, even after going up and down river 30 yards trying to loosen it off.

I won't be using lighter gear in the river anytime soon, there's a pig in that river waiting for me......

some nice big fat cod coming out the river ,keep at it mate another will be on its way.
