Help! My balls are blue....

I knocked up 30 x 16oz cannonball sinkers with my DO-IT mould.

All the sinkers have a blue tinge, I would normally associate this with the lead and mould being too hot, but even the first few poured are like that.

Cannonball sinkers made with the smaller moulds are fine, I know it doesn't really matter, the sinkers are the right weight and shape but I was wondering why it's happening? Any ideas?

Cheers!

Hi Keith

It will be to do with the cooling on the inside of the cast ball, also there could be another element in the lead you are using. some types of lead has small additions to make cooling slower.

Where can I get the moulds for weights, (not the cannonball one) as I have been looking for a double 10oz and 12 oz weight mould? Any advice and costs appreciated.

Hope you charged more for the extra colour Keith :)

Mould porn that Norman :D

Put me down for a 10oz & 12oz, same in cannon ball and yellow reef :D

Hoy, stop selling moulds I'll loose all my punters lol

Keith, no one could keep up with your production rates :) :)
And I've not sold any yet :) :) just lots of interest, for serious requests please pm me.

Hey Keith maybe you should have a few dozen, one for each boat name of your customers :) :) :)
