Help please

Can anybody advise/help.

I\'ve just opened up my mag elite for the first time ever to clean it and a part has fell out, its sort of a V shaped bit with a tab?. It fell out of the magnetic side of the reel.

Its the first time I\'ve ever tried to clean a reel and probably the last.

did you open the reel from the mag side or the handle side using the thumb screws ??

Thanks guys the part No. is 23506, but I\'m not sure how to put it back in.

You are going to have a mare getting it back in - i did the same as you (even though i knew not to ) just so i could see what and how the magnets worked - it took me a good hour to get it back working again - the part clips on the leg bit of 23501 but then the fun starts when you put the side plates back on

Lol, done exact same thing myself. the little tab on the metal bit sits in the little hole in the plastic bit that holdls the magnets (23501). hope that makes sense.

Might be worth taking it to a Tackle Dealer,it will cost you a couple of quid but you wont be stressed out doing it,especially if its new

you have to set your magnets on 6, then put sideplate back on and slide the magnets forward and they click into place, as for the small piece,the rounded end faces away from the magnets, there is a recess for the widest part to sit in, i should have a diagram somewhere on how to re/fit the magnet components, will have a look.

Thanks guys, Im gonna give it a go later on. Im going to stay calm and also have a bottle of vodka next to me.

If all else fails I\'ll take to a tackle shop, can anybody recomend a good one? (I\'m close to billie\'s, frasers or johns of wallsend)

Can\'t speak for the other shops as I\'ve never used them, but I had my 535 serviced at Billys a couple of months ago and it came back working even better than it did when it was brand new.

its easy to fit, make sure you put the big spring on the cage first then put the magnets on next, then put side plate on, make sure they are set at 6, then once one slide the adjuster forward and they should click into place, if you have everything in place. :casstet:

Can\'t honestly rememeber, Lee.
It went in for a repair and had the service done at the same time.
Think it was something like £18 but that included the part which needed replacing and Billy had to order it from Penn.

After about 4 goes I was about to reach for the vodka then I thought I\'ll give it one more go before I ring Keegy, but I think I\'ve sorted it.

how do I know if I\'ve done it correct?
