help removing tip light holder

That's how I take my tip rings off as long as you don't get it glowing do it bit by bit but don't twist it off

Seems OK according to all the gumph out there.
Very high heat resistance and even used on F1 braking systems.

I'd still be nervous in firing up a rod tip though.
Maybe try an old bit of rod or something else carbon fibre to see if it's affected before going the whole hog.
Another thing may be to freeze the tip. Epoxy becomes brittle and might be easier tapped off when it crystalizes.

after all that the rod arrived this morning,he said good condition on the ebay listing, with new conoflex shrink tube plus he said it has a movable reel seat and one eye had been repaired.turns out theres a hugh glued on reel seats that going rusty, half the eyes are starting to rust, some high build is flaking off ,the shrink tube has 3 small holes in it,its got sand in the spigot and the tip tape is like nothing ive seen before.the only good thing is the glued on tip light holder is held on with selotape, the rod needs a full rebuild

Get yourself up to a reputable retailer such as NETS and have them draft up a report on it for you.
In the event that the seller declines to repay you in full for an item wrongly described you can issue a money claim online for the losses you incurred as a result.

Good condition is something in the eye of the beholder and an opinion based on the sellers perspective in these sort of cases. If he thinks it in good condition and you don't, you'd need to be able rely on a report as described.

It's a right sod though. You bought something you thought was just what you wanted and it turns out be a load of $hite.

a rod builder is looking at it this afternoon, going to rebuild the rod to match the new one I bought.same colours ect,ive opned a ebay case and told them I want a refund to go towards sorting the rod as its not as listing says, ive taken pictures of the rod as it came.he also sent it in a carpet tube that's was to short so he taped another bit to the top so it covered the rod.its was flopping side to side so its amazing it got to me intact

Be VERY careful here.
Legally you are entitled to only the cost of putting the rod in the condition it was described AFTER agreement with the seller, or by sending it back for a refund. Actually it's down to the seller to have it done up to a satisfactory standard, not you. At least not prior without consent.

If you keep it and have it done up you'll have implied acceptance. Make sure you don't rely only on Ebay refund policy as the seller could still instigate a small claim action for non payment and non return of the product.

It would be a real messy situation if you had the rod done up, got a refund from Ebay and then the seller demanded the rod back, as he would be entitled to.

hes been payed for the rod,hes being a arse hole now,he offered 20 quid back and I told him id take 30 quid, hes being a prick so ive told him not to bother and im leaving him **** feed back.ebay asked if I wanted a full refund or some of the money back, they are saying he does not accept returns anyway

It's the problem with Ebay. If the seller says he won't accept returns it leaves you in limbo.
However you're still entitled to goods as described.
If you want to see how best to get progress could I suggest posting your case on the Legal beagles or Consumer Advice forums.

It's only a tenner he's withholding on an agreed settlement so he's being a total $hit-head.

If you paid by a Visa or Debit card via ebay, even if it went via Paypal, you can demand a cashback. If so ask for a full cashback and tell the buyer to arrange a carrier to take it back. it'll cost him more than the tenner he's holding from you anyway.

What rod was it anyway. Someone up here may have one they would sell you.

If you want to return the rod because its not as described eBay and PayPal will back you up.whether he has a no returns policy or not.

yeah I though that mick.the rods up near you at the rod builder I know, hes doing a full rebuild to match the new one I have,he said the blank its self seems sound but it is a older model as the logo is the older type.anyway hes removing the glued on plastic and metal reel seat putting new eyes, abu reel seat and shrink on plus tip tape with high build over it,hes doing the tip tape /high build on my new rod and putting a abu reel seat on there to so I will end up with a matching pair other than the stickers are different.when it all adds up wont be a lot cheaper than a brand new one.lad on ebay offered 20 quid back but ive told him to stick it,ive reported him to ebay for telling porkys on his listing.it will look like new when I get it back so not all bad--lol

heres a few pics I took before taking the rod to get rebuilt.he said it had movable reel seat and was in good condition with tip tape and new shrink tube.the reel seat is plastic and metal and is glued on the butt for reel up,even though I told him I fish reel down and he said its movable. its being removed and a abu griploc put on .the tip light holder he said was glued on the rod and that's why I started this thread,is only on with selotape.most of the rings are shot so there all being replaced.lucky that the rod builder said blank its self seems good so its only cosmetic stuff that needs done.the high build is flaking off .the shrink tube has 3 holes in it plus the bottom ring has two different threads holding it on and no high build on one side
