Keep seeing this suggestion about tightening down the reel side plate endcaps and basically it is just bad advice.By doing this you will just be putting pressure on the spool spindle,for no neccessary reason,but what it will do is ware eventually and damage the spindle or endcap or both.
Always have a slight noticable end float movement in your spool by using the end caps or cap when centering the spool,it is what they are there for.Thicker oil in bearings,larger break blocks or extra ones,turn up the magnetic setting to slow a reel is good advice as said previously.Apart from that a smooth progressive cast will help also.
