Help with fish I.D please

Hi, could anyone help with i.d of this fish please. First i thought it was a shad, but now suspecting a weaver?

Caught while spinning for pollock, north Tyne.

Looks like a weaver fish it's got the black spike on its back never touch one nasty little *******s

Thankyou all, Good job i shook it off the hook after the pic
I never suspected weaver at the time, as i have only ever seen pics of larger ones, so it was only luck that i shook it off rather than holding it to unhook.

Shame the luck started as i was packing to go, that being the only fish i caught that day lol

was there much doing on the pier m8 any pollock about. possibly there first light monday morning as flat seas and clear skies.

I had a couple of small pollock on daylights last week, just to the left hand side, where the railings end, but nothing since (but very much a novice still lol)
Plenty of whiting for the bait rods and a lad got a nice size halibut or Turbot from off the end.

we have had pollock from the back wall at the end to 4lb, also lost pollock 6lb and over from where you have been chucking, zenith silver minnows have worked best for us m8, give them a try.

Lol i.m scared of the back wall haha. I was using zeniths the day i got the weaver m8
