Anyone know what days and time the fish quay down Hendon is open?

do you mean the wet fish shop. if so then i go down anytime that is normal shop hours and they are always open. never really had to think about it but i suppose some might think it only opens when a boat is unloading its catch for sale.

i was down other week about 10 am and bought some live fresh razor exellent stuff nowt like the small stuff some tackle shops are selling

im a bit out of touch with fishing baits as i aint done much fishing recently. do you use razor in a bait combintion, what species is it it most effective for and what is it selling for. might give it a try cos somtimes other baits can be a bit scarce when you want to suddnely get up and go fishing at short notice

ive allways got razor runny and mussel in the freezer use it as a cocktail with some rag

sounds like a canny cocktail to me. do you get all that on the same hook

one full razor acouple of runny then a few rag whipped on to a bait needle add a bit mussell cut in two a nice juicey bait with plenty of sent fish it on a 3/0 or 4/0 pennel pully the mark I normally fish just needs a short lob

im might pop down hendon fish quay today and see how if they have razor for sail.bait is sometimes hard to came by from the shops this time of year so that sounds like a canny way of bulking your bait stocks up.

I usually use Razor to tip off when using Lug or Rag but you can use it in any combination. As has been said if you have some Runnydown, Mussel and Razorfish in your freezer you can always go fishing without needing to go to the Tackle shop. You can always keep some Squid with the rest of the stuff too, the more different baits the better chance you have of catching.

went down to hendon fish quay today about 11 am. no razor left although he said they'd had loads in this week and there wont be any in now until after the hols. bought meself a big fillet of smoked cod instead, to feed me not the fish. expensive they are too. could do with catching a few meself to save the expense. i followed that up by nipping down to hendon prom.looks like they've been spending a bit of money on it tidying the place up. ive never fished it before. which are the most productive marks. there where 3 lads fishing about 40 yards from the beginning of the prom opposite a gravel flower bed, looked like they where getting bites.
