Double yellows are at the entrance down to the bridge, I got my pb cod from there 10.5lbs,and quite a few smaller cod also a Bass, so it cant be that terrible.;)

i was down there last friday and was told that it was going to be closed to all traffic. there is supposed to be an A4 size notice on the fence past the bridge before the car park entrance.

easy fix for police that is saves them driving along prom, not that they ever do, pettition me thinks if true

Petition is no good. If there is any truth to this then all you lads who live in Sunderland need to write and complain to your local councillor.

Think it won't make a difference? This sort of thing is suggested by council officers (i.e employees) and will then be nodded through by the relevant council committee. If a councillor gets a dozen letters from constituents questioning a decision then they will take notice. For a venue like the Prom where it is either fish from your car or risk having it burnt out you can make a good case to stop this from happening.

Enough letters and someone managing the comapaign and councillors will even come to a public meeting to discuss the issue. If you don't believe me skip over to WSF and look at the success the lads in Worthing and Bexhill in Sussex had in overturning decisions to get fishing banned from Worthing Pier and Bexhill beach. Enough people making a noise and quite often they will listen...

If they decide to stop vehicular access the promenade, how in gods name
am i to transport my cable,to the designated area for burning off the
plastic sheathing? Does the council have any idea, what the implications
are,for small businesses like mine? The narrow minded bean counters, and
the likes, don't realise this type of poorly thought out planning, has such a
huge knock on effect. If i have to fold my business, because of this, then it
follows, there will be a lot less work for the transport police, track engineers,
electricians,solicitors,court clerks,judges etc,and reductions in staff will
surely follow, mark my words.I for one will be seeking a meeting, with the
Hendon ward councillor forthwith.
