Hendon can still produce fish but has to be the right conditions just like any mark really I wouldn't fish the black path with a massive sea running so wouldnt expect fish in the summer down hendon odd flatty maybe or whitey in the dark. This time of year the pier rock edges or the tyne produce fish.
even in winter perfect conditions i blank every time mate of mine says the big seas washed the worm beds away also along the docks chemicals killed the worm seaham halls a better shot or horden
Spoke to you on Sunday morning, while I was float fishing.Very rare I blank on Roker pier and like I said to you using a light rod with the float is really good sport mate .Get yerself along the pier for coalies ,pollack, flounder dabs, codling, wrasse, mackerel, plaice and the odd turbot.
I've spent days and nights fishing that bloody prom, fanny pads and wet wipes gallour. But in the right conditions and right tide you can pull in a good fish, and sometimes in the wrong conditions I've seen people pull in good fish. In the last 2 years I've cut my teeth on the prom and to be honest its crap!!! If you walk over the rocks close to the broken jetty you can see a toxic fluid coming up from the rocks and sea bed. If you talk to born and bred lads like caster Tony he tells of times when lots of big cod were caught and the worm beds. Its a real shame but I'm convinced there is pollution from those tanks.!!!
