Fished Hendon prom last night from quarter to 8 till 1015. Fishing the ebb. At the square just to the left of concrete jetty, big hooks and big baits (crab and runnydown) at a bit of distance at first, plenty of bites (whities I think)
but no takers. Switched to a scratching rig with size 2's for last half hour and with me last cast on a tiny scrap of mackeral got a bite from a whiting that registered 4lb on the rod tip but looked about 4oz on the beach, never mind gave me a chuckle and didn't blank!!
