I am not a watcher of sport, but stayed up until 3am to see our own Scot, Andy Murray, finally win a grand slam! I don't have Sky, so was reduced to following the match on BBC text. Almost went to bed in a deep depression when Djokovic levelled at 2 sets all. So glad I didn't!

A fantastic night, a fabulous victory Andy and I don't mind being shattered for today's work. Off to the prison to teach inmates literacy with a spring in my step :)

Have to agree on the Jock thing Duncan, but must take exception to the "spoiled brat" analogy. He is a typical taciturn Scot, no airs or graces, just a down to earth decent, incredibly talented guy.

We should celebrate his victory. :)

Haha Duncan, the name you are looking for is, I think, John McInroe.

Yes I got out the nick early, as it all kicked off, fists flying everywhere, so I got rescued by the screws!

No problem, I still get paid :)

Off out soon to tutor English to some well deserved, role model, Scottish boys and girls :red:

i think that the scottish nation like him to be a scot....not british

a champion to be applauded for his sporting prowess and achievements.....

i also prefer him to be a scot.....;)

not a typical scot at all he is a sniffling little posh boy he comes from a wealthy family with all the right conections just another rich kid with a bad attitude i hope he never wins a british competion he only likes to be british at wimbeldon a complete and utter tosser in my eyes not a great by any means when he dominates like the other greats then he will be a great hurd one comentator comparing him to nadal hahahaha nearly crashed the car laughing

Hes only gone and won it!

Hes only gone and won it!

I also sat up and watched it Mark and cheered him on as loudly as i did when he won gold for team GB.I also looked at him as a spoilt brat, but I didnt see any of that lastnight, only a very determined young man who has changed out of all recognition. The old Andy Murray would not have won and good luck to the lad,it doesnt matter where your from its all part of GREAT BRITAIN.

Your Scot? Oh I see... Scottish when he is winning... British when he is losing..... ;)

Gordon, I thought he came over quite well during Wimbledon and the Olympics. He is only so dour coz he got burned by the UK presss when he first hit the scene and decided not to speak his mind again.... cant say I blame him. Press idiots.

Cracking win for the lad though!

You couldn't be more wrong mate. He did not come from a wealthy family.
He was in the Dunblane school when the awful thing happened................ he never mentions it.

You would do well to research the truth before you spout your bile on an open forum.

Yes my Scot.

It is only the British that distinguish between nationality, whether winning or losing. Quite sad really.

It is not funny mate!

Maybe if you had nearly died at 8 years old, at the hands of a crazed gunman, your parents might have sent you abroad.
