Well lads went down to the Pool today with the intention of buying a mark 1 Tip Tornado from Andy off the forums but unfortunatly Andy was unable to sell it-so i went to Nets and bought another.Got a Tip Tornado Match £275.
Got some cracking bait from John at the Friarage and headed for the Heugh.
Fished from 2pm until 1am and on second last cast caught a nice 5 1/2 pound cod. So the rods been christened with one of the best fish i,ve had for ages.
Heres the fella at home

-forgot my camera-but couple of Nisa lads took my photo and said they would put on here.
ps John mr visa helped with the rod.

Cheers mate. Forgot to say lovely sea running with a big swell-but fish on the thin ground. One young lad up on top nailed another 5 1/2 pounder. Other than that just a couple of whities and flatties.
Oh and my cod had roe inside of it. There has got to be some big lunkers sniffing around in these conditions---bet someone nails one tomorrow.

Here's the photo on the Heugh Mick, nice to meet you and be able to weigh the fish for you. Lovely fish it was too. Not much happened after you left, guy on top had a few tommys but nothing bigger than 1lb.

Cheers for the photo Gav.
I was surprised you and your mate did not nail a cod-you were putting out the biggest baits i have ever seen.

Well done on getting a decent fish out, its the second time in a row ive been on there and the person next to me has got a 5lb + fish, its got to be my turn soon

Big baits = big fish isnt working at the min.

well done mick im heading out there monday night if i can get hold of some bait will end up on the huegh if its fishable all depends on how big the sea is aint bothered looking down this week

Andy its just the luck of the draw. The spot i was fishing is popular with a very good angler i know-i was just using his tactics. Mind when the currant caught the fish on the corner i honestly thought it had gone.

Stick in mate-it was my first decent bite and fish after about 9 hrs.

Mick.
