Hi could any one tell me wat the difference is between the greys platinum gsi and the xs and which one would be the best for fishing the north east area thanks mick

Check the greys website for rod info mate. The GSI is the newer one and i find it perfect for our coast rocks or beach.

Very nice casting rod and even i can get a bit of distance using it and my casting is not the best lol

that's two for the GSi...can't comment on the XS but have fished for the last 3 years with my GSi and love it to bits...great rod for all circumstances and handles the rough stuff with ease as well as a nice casting rod for the beaches

Both rated to cast the same, the GSI has a stiffer butt and is a bit more tippy, the XS is more of a through action. Love my GSI, used to have a pair but sold one last year when I was a bit skint - equally at home with a slosh on in the rough stuff, or stick on a little reel, clip one down & watch it fly!

Only let down by the crummy high-build (common on lots of Greys rods) - I've burst all the high build on mine so it'll be going in for a rebuild in the spring.

Gary :)

ive got the xs and it has a soft tip compared to the gsi. i wish i'd bought the gsi as the xs doesn't handle the rough stuff as good as the gsi. ive just bought a mk3 apollo for the rough stuff and its great, take a look at one before buying a platinum as its a much better rod.
