High Water Marks - north side of Tyne

A good point Marty, I was fishing the lower reaches of the tyne last week and we spotted a seal on a few occasions...but the week previous we fished the wooden jetty at blyth harbour..and there was a seal there too, we commented on the fact that there must be fish about but only managed a couple of barely sized coalies.

You know why I think there are fewer fish from the Warriors? ............and the South Crab Hill? ..........and the Slatey?.........and even Sharpness?......or Whitley Pipe?

No pipes at any of those venues now (Whitley excepted) and although taking out the structure might have had an adverse effect on tidal movements (especially at the Bottom of the Stairs), I think the lack of sewage has altered the ecosystems of these places where the top dog was the codling. No cr*p = no scavengers = less feed = less fish.

i agree mate the sewerpipe at hendon still nocks a good fish out now and again but its not as goosd as iot used to be ,even flat seas you got the,m but its hard work now anywhere there anyway
