Tried Higham Lake Nr Ponteland Sunday tea time... looked terrible on approach (2 square dug out gravel pits full of water), thankfully this wasn't my venue... Behind the hut and hidden away in a little valley was the most picturesque natural looking lake complete with local wildlife JACKPOT!!! I thought -unfortunately the rainbow's just didn't want to take whatever I presented to them. There was 3 anglers in total and the lad next to me was pulling them in for fun... he even gave me his fly - told me where to cast and explained the whole rigmarole, still no luck!

Hopefully something will come my way next time.

have you tried a stick of dynamite
hahaha

you should have came down to the seaton lane inn
and got some nice tips and flies

Hard lines mate better luck on your next trip. If you havnt all ready been give South Lindon Fishery ( Longhorsely ) a shot, cracking little place, have a look at there web site.

Just one of the not so good days I reckon, had plenty of those recently:),
As you say the "Bottom Lake" is a cracker and all you need is a bit of luck to get a bend in the rod.
When the the new lakes at the top mature I think Higham will be much more attractive, its the same at Chatton, at the moment it is a bit bare and barron but after a while it will also turn out to be a grand place to wet a line.

Better luck next time Cod Basher, a biggie may be just around the corner.;)
