Hiking Boot Insoles?

Just bought a pair of hiking boots as I'm wearing out boots at a rate of knots since we got the puppy. Just wondering what insoles others use or recommend and also is Grangers G-Wax still the dogs danglies for cleaning/polishing/waterproofing them?

I don’t use insoles just a thick pair of socks are enough even for hill walking, backpacking and in the distant past for ice climbing. Wax is OK to keep leather boots supple but not much use for modern goretex and fabric ones.

After 22 years yomping with HMF you cant go wrong with a pair of Scarpa,s and a set of sorbathane insoles, expensive at about £25 but well worth it, you only get one set of feet look after them and they,ll look after you,!

I prefer Nikwax for waterproofing my Meindl shooting boots.
I have had them 7 years now and only used Nikwax on them & they are still waterproof.
They get some abuse through heather, brambles etc and that wax has never let me down.
At £185 for my boots, I needed something that would look after them, and I would highly reccomend Nikwax.
