Has anyone tied to make a home made rod turner ?
Thinking of making one and looking for some tips or a step by step please
Ian

Hi what do you mean by turner ? Do you mean a drier that uses a motor to cure the highbuild level or a wrapper that you use to do wraps(whippings)?.

I would like to make something for both drying and wrapping but not sure where to start .
I have a slow plug in motor off a disco ball that would probably do as a dryer. And I've seen you can use a sewing machine motor with the pedal for wrapping .
I'm just looking for ideas before I start

Ok thank you
If you don't mind spending the time could you make a step by step of how you made it please
It would really help.

Do you wire a plug onto the 2 gold lugs ?
Just been looking at them on eBay and they are cheap enough
Ian

just go down the local tip they norm have loads of them,

when you get the motor get the plug and wire aswell, put 2 spade conectors on wire and push onto motor put earth onto screw that holds motor onto your frame, use a spray can lid as a motor cover, or ( dont stick your fingers on them )

Now looking for chuck idea's for my drier motor to clamp into the rod please
Thanks for all the help so far
Ian ;)

Hi I just used an old Volvo oil filter remover put slits in with hacksaw to accommodate o rings. Also if I were you I would keep the drier seperate from the wrapper so you'll be able to get on with both secrions at the same time.ill put a pic up of my drier later for you made it out of a 12v old Xmas Santa and a speaker stand
