honda 5hp oil light

Hi lads,
i have a 1996 honda BF5 5hp, i was running it the otherw week when after 2-3 minutes the oil light went out, plenty of oil in, can anyone advise on this.

where is the oil filter coz i looked and cant see it, i was thinking this as a first step,

all the engines I had the oil light came on when something was wrong, a bit like a car, red is a warning.

i agree all the machinery i service the oil light only comes on when the oil is low or there is a problem

the honda bf5 and my recent 10hp have a green oil indictaion light, they need to be on at all times when running. like i say the light on the 5 has gone out. maybe i'll call trident, i am told they are a honda dealer.

Paul, with your old 5hp, i think the red light is staying on for a while until you get to the right oil pressure, then it is going out, it is most likely just old age, like me it takes a while to get going.
