Me and a mate fished 4 hours up from the north end of Horden last night where the pipe comes down the beach. Plenty of decent Whiteys up to maybe just over a pound - all returned except one deep hooker which the wife's cats will enjoy I am sure. Also a few decent Rockling.

But the highlight of the evening was my mates first cast where he blew his reel up and while unpicking the knots a Bass of 2 1/4 lb grabbed his bait and was landed. Caught on Rag.

Tried Rag, Blacks, Bluey, Razor and Cart but no Codling showed. Bluey best for Whiting but they would take anything given time.

Don't know what this mark is called, its a long drive down an old track to the car park, past the sewage works and through the flood under the railway bridge. Any ideas ?

Also I noticed some lads had their cars at the top of the beach driving along. Any idea how to get down there ?

You fished Horden Flight pal.

And you can access the beach with a 4x4 from Blackhall via deneholme bank.

Thanks Mate

years ago before the turning back the tide scheme began , you could drive down the flight bank almost to the beach , shame its all gone now , if you do take a 4x4 down expect it to come off manky , I once got bogged down in a 4x4 and it sank down to the sills - no one around until a nice lad from blackhall hauled me out with an awld Suzuki vitara 3 hours later !!! good job I was on the top shelf

Magpies i wouldnt park in that car park again if i were you . The local yobs love to either break into cars or set them on fire(especially in the dark) . Instead park before the railway bridge where the houses are,bit of a walk but the safer option mate !

your at dene holme m8 , he was at the flight car park at the crossroads. :D

neither car park are safe tbh .

Yeah we were at the flight car park, past the water works, under the bridge, right turn and straight down. TBH I didn't really feel cars were safe but we got away with it this time. Just when we got back to the cars a car came down, saw us loading our cars turned around and went back. Why would anyone drive down there just to turn around and come back ? I reckon we were lucky. Thanks for the advice lads.
