fished horden high tide...nice surf on ....so spinning was not the best option ...not on my very light lure rod anyway ...so bait fishing ....used macky / macky and worm and peeler and macky and just peeler...nothing.....then came the knock ...was a good un..so i reeled in the slack and my line keeps going left across the beach ...this was amazing as i initially cast to my right ....the what pops to the surface? a spinner and feather combo belonging to someone 60 yds to my left ....how that was possible ? who knows........all in all blanked but hey they are some hardcore featherers out there another good point of the day is that i finally got some imp2 clips and they are amazing for of the ground. very easy to use was well pleased. and also my first trial of the blob knot there was a lot of seaweed drifting about andit got out very easy from the blob knot...even managed to retrieve full rig when i thought i was stuck .will be blob knotting for all my next shockleaders......til next time im out evryone ..cc3k over out

Take care with the blob knot mate, I've tried it in the past but it can snap after a few chucks due to the heat weakening the line. Just a word of warning as you wouldn't want to lose the big one to a dodgy knot.

cheers for that gaverick...i read in tsf that u should neva let the shockleader touch the flame or the not will go brittle....just gotta keep heat and tapping ...but i will keep that in mind to be honest as u can neva tell when stuff can fail

i find - as you say that, if you just leave the lighter a cm or so away the heat will create the perfect little blob.

Other day i was doing one, looked away for a split second and burnt through my main line

lol
