went down to kill some time . thought it was gonna be calm and fulla whiting ...the some lazy swells and it was rather foggy. used two rods at varying distance. fished next to david birks and his dad. caught three whiting on circle hooks all lip hooked which was a relief as three whitng were rather skinny. on macky baits. then ray ( i think his name was shouted come over marra) , i jokingly earlier said if ur stuck with a thorny ill use my brand new disgorger to help ya ... ironicaaly enough his son pulled in a 9lb thornyback, a magnificent looking specimen he was over the moon.the thornback was safely returned shortly after he posed with his prize catch , here are his pics. rather crappy but i said i will put it up for him. caught a couple of plump whiting later best at 43 cm kept one for the pan all fish were taken on macky . also found a live sprat on the beach . how that happened beats me but was an unusual find at the water line .

That's two in two nights then as the lad next to me landed a canny one on Saturday. Sounds like your Whities were a bit bigger than mine too, well done.

Have the "parking issues" improved at Horden, or is it still a little risky to leave your car?

Car park was full of cars Saturday night, they all seemed OK when I was walking off at about 9:45pm. Personally I wouldn't take the risk. I always park up by the viaduct, by the time you've walked up to the car park most of the rest is an easy flat walk anyway.
