Found a nice new spot on far right of main beach. Ground a bit rough but the longer the cast the better the ground. Had couple of good knocks but lost both on retrieve, this makes me think there is a kelp bed or something the fish can get into as it seems it just locks up against something then the fish is gone after a really hard drag in. INFO please as it seems a nice mark but is possibly unfishable maybe a big rope , net , weed bed or something I don`t know about stopping it fishing. If so where is the best point on the beach to fish from also is it safe to leave cars at end of the lane close to beach. Short casts didn't produce at all.:question:

You mite of found a gully and there could be some loose rocks or boulders when you hook up try and get the fish up as quick as poss to avoid the snags

hi m8, depending how far right you were , there are 2 small rocky outcrops and the remains of an old sewerage pipe , if you go down down on a big low tide you'll get to see whats there .. HTH -

If you a decent caster you will be over the sand bar and thats what your feeling as your reeling in

Many thanks lads its always helpful to get local info from people who know the area another time . Will give it a try maybe without a gripper lead.

Cars not safe anywhere mate. Even if you wired it up to the
mains,somebody would run a cable off your exhaust to grow
cannabis plants!

Cars are safe if you park up on the blackhall side near the club and walk over the bridge and down dean holme bank its a good 15min walk to horden beach and the bank is a killer but you know ya car is safe at the bottom of ninth or tenth street

have a walk down on a big low tide, you,ll see what the grounds like and any kelp will show itself on the surface.
