How do you all transport rods and tripods?

As it stand the rods in a rod bag that goes to the beaches with me and goes in the car along with a tripod. No matter how much sand I shake off them the car still gets covered.

I found a waste pipe which I was gunna cover one end of and slide the rods nd tripod in but worried this may damage the eyes.

What do you do?
 
I just throw them in the car mate, it's a pain I know but sand and crap in the car is just part of fishing.
I try and keep the mess to a minimum by pushing my rods through the boot hatch so the mucky ends are in the boot which is protected by a bootliner.

same as Ian, rods and rest chucked in car with manky ends in the boot, take ya carpet oot and shake it, simples ..........
 
There is a couple of ways. You could but a rod tube which i have got for Norway. Trouble is for local fishing you don,t really need to use one.
Second i have a rubber boot liner in the back of my Vectra for the dog. This also doubles up as excellent for catching all the sand etc off your stuff. I put one of the big tying elastics on front headrests and put top end of rods on here Base goes down middle of car and rests on rubber mats. Carry 4 rods nee bother this way------even with my rod holdhall.

ps i don,t think your rod will suffer eye damage in the pipe you have.
 
1 small tip when transporting in a car tie a length of rope between both front seat headrests and you rods stay up high away from the gears stick handbrake etc or fashion some sort of metal pole with clips on works a treat for me: )
 
Clip a small bungy chord between the 2 front seat headrests to lay the rods etc on. As said, boot liners are great at catching all the sand etc.
 
Ive started putting a pillow case on the end of my rod bag before putting in the car. Cheap as hell from Asda and keep the dash area protected:)
 
just get a off cut of vinyl cushion floor the type people put down in kitchens and bathrooms then take your boot carpet out and use it as a template draw round it, onto the cushion floor then cut it out.

Put back your boot carpet first and put your cushion floor cut out on top keeps your original carpet clean, even if you stand in dog s##t or a dead kipper its easy to remove wash and put back in.

rods just rest on a bungie through some foam pipe insulation gaffa tape round it clips on the front seat head rests.

and i use the lights out the bottom of the cigarette lighters for rod tip lights, lasts for ages .... 5 for a £1 bargain.

was intrested in the last bit about the ciggy lighter lights....thought about that myself but wasnt too sure how too A. get the light out without too much fuss and B. how you get it to stay on (the light that is) as you have to press the button for it to com on
 
Keep a little brush in the boot like those you buy with those little dust pans. Easy to clean sand off tripod with one of those then brush sand off rest of gear before sticking them in the car and also got a boot liner to catch any bits of sand that didn't come off the box/waders.
Might seem like a bit of a fanny on but a couple of minutes with the brush is better than 15mins the following day trying to get dry sand out of the carpets.
 
easiest way is to use someone elses car :D then you dont have to clean the mess up :P thanks to cod o matic when he comes through to shields to fish...and mums taxi too lol

Take Screw outof bottom cover plate - Tap end of lighter on bench till light starts to come out - Get some heat shrink wrap and cover the battery holder and a small section of the LED (makes it watertight) tape light to end of rod and use a small zippy ty to turn on - or zippy tie it to the end
