How heavy would this carp be?

Whilst away on holiday with the family I had a sneaky course fishing session. I had fished the same lake before and lost a decent carp just as I was about to net it.

So I was hopeful & I hooked one first cast, which was a good fish, but I lost it after fighting it for about 10 minutes... gutted. Anyway I got my bait back out into the same spot and it wasn't long before I had another take and landed the photographed fish. Unfortunately there was no one about to take my photograph and I didn't have any scales but I can estimate the lenth based on the size of my chair. it was about 26-28 inches long and seamed quite chunky to me. Can anyone of you more experienced carp anglers estimate the weight for me please?

I hooked another later on, but also lost it. Anyway was really pleased to hook 3 and land one.

I am very tempted to get myself properly kitted out and try carp fishing properly.

Thanks guys, that's about what I thought.

Message received loud & clear regarding unhooking mat. I will buy one before I target carp again. I did read the lake rules and this, however wasn't mentioned.

By the way, fish was caught on 12mm halibut pellet.

I'd buy the biggest mat you can afford some waters/clubs have a minimum size for mats and nets.
Guesstimate weight between 7/9lb
What type of net were you using ?
