i got my new rod today "anubis" now it came with a fuji reel seat sitting loose!
now i have to fit it, thats the problem i have no idea, any advice would be a great help thanks.

hello m8
just position the seat where you want it and wrap some electricians tape around the butt gradually thickening it up away from the seat.
push the seat onto the tape then build up the other end and your done.

Hi tony, do i need to use adhesive/glue? or is just down to forced tight fit.

what ever you do dont glue the reel seat on mate, make a slider out off it by getting a coaster or a jubilee clip and then take it apart and slide you coaster or clip over and were the reel sits cut either side down with a junior hack saw to just before half way, then cut the middle off your cut with a stanely knife and put your fuji back together and put it on the rod and just tighten the clip or coaster at the point you want your reel to sit,if its a bit slack put some sparkies tape under, this way you can fish with the reel up or down if you want a change:D:D

i see what you mean RR but i know i will end making a dogs a**e of it. :D After reading good reports about abu grip-lok. at 14 quid sounds a lot easier.
well thanks for your help lads :):D

Spend the extra cash and buy yourself an adjustable reel seat. If you have forked out all that cash on an Anubis I would highly recommend the Century adjustable seat which you can purchase on-line from the Century main site. I have three, they are well worth the cash.

£14? shop around the recomended retail price is onl £11.99, you can pick them up for £9.99.
Rods correct, these seats are only a good fit on certain rods and others do need some sort of packing under them to work.

The abu reel seat is the only one i can get hold of in denmark at short notice, beachcasting gear is vertually non-existing over here, so everything i buy is by mail-order and can take weeks to arrive  i waited 2 months for the rod and dying to give it a blast:D

hello m8
just alectricians tape. start with one wrap then 2 then a bit thicker and so on till the seat jams on.
then above the seat fix the tape close op to the seat and a couple of turns over the edge and your sorted.

Just did what you said tony, seems to have worked a treat, think i will just keep it as it is and keep the abu grip-lock in my tackle box just in case of emergencies;) as Q says "always have a plan B".:D Thanks to all for the advice:)
