after a bit of thought I decided to head out but choice of venue was undecided I finally settled with the old trust worthy huegh started fishing just before 4pm with frozen baits only after casting out with in 5 mins my rod tip had rattled I picked up the rod felt another bite struck and resulted in a very nice gurnard after that it slowed down with the odd dab to keep me busy after the tide started to ebb I started to get a little more action with a weever then another dab followed by a rockling my by 9pm the whiting started to show with a double shot followed by another double shot this time a whiting and a small codling about 1lb things started to slow down so I moved from the end of the pier and fished the boards with frozen blacks and crab with only a few bites to show steady night and rather enjoyable glad to be back out and about again

its over in Hartlepool mate......the gurnard was the last thing I was expecting to catch to be honest but was a very nice suprise

Nice fish mate, I have had some little ones on SSP but nothing that size. They are good eating.

just like the first fence before they moved it back just climb round it now really easy still better if there is two of yougoing on always safer passing your gear round it

thanks 4 that lads, it must be 5 or 6 years since I fished the pier, I used to love inside the sheckles on a massive northerly , had some good fish outa there ...
