well guys managed to get hold of some rag and mussel so i poped over to hodgesons wet fish shop for some squid and ended up paying just short of £20 for some quality fresh razor...anyway headed down the huegh and started fishing for 2030 within the first few minutes of my first cast i had a sharp rattle of the rod tip whitie i said to ma self struck into it was only a small codlin all 8oz of it thought surely thats gotta be a good sign of things to come...how wrong was i ened uup with two small dab and a whitie bout half pund packed up and went home at 0230 winds did turn from northely to straight southerly and started to pick up a little but suppose i cant complain as i never blanked this time right little spirit raiser

have been doing ok with the frozen razor from Wing Hong in Newcastle 50-60 for £4.95

The best spot in my opinion is on the top corner out at 45% as hard as you can.

Mind the spot you are on about is a dark horse. Lot of old timers fish down there and pull in some canny fish.

I fished there last time down with a 5 ounce plain lead-not a lot doing.

Down tomorrow somewhere-----? Will assess when i see the sea.

Well done on not blanking! I've been using the razor from the chinese supermarket for a while now and it's canny, how many did ya get from hodgesons???

Mick, me and my pal are out tomorro, we were gonna go on steetley but arter checking the forecast I think it'll be too big to fish anywhere! predicting 17ft swells with 25mph ne winds, most probably have to go up the river.

Thers a couple of old blokes I know who fish the spot your on about. They always fish at the end of the wall on the top level after a big blow just as the sea is dying off. They catch more fish there than I have ever seen on the end. All they do is a short lob of 30 / 40 yards with a big bait.

had my personal best from the second set of bords of there bout 5 yr ago now only me and the old man fishing wieghed spot on 12lb not had a decent fish since got about 18 razor from hodsons mate but its pretty big and all live ive found it fishes better than the frozen stuff from the tackle shops

no ya never read it wrong mate its tyhe only place i knew where to get it from on the plus side it was alive and still is thru the whole night i think i only used 5 got two baits out of each one
