been a real eye opener,heartbreaking to see all those discards,presumably that goes on off our local ports too then?

well if any local trawler man want to throw there discards over a mile or two off the piers i'll happily hoover them up

TESCO this week has changed their policy on the Tuna they buy for their own brand - on the back of this. So well done Hugh.

Just shows some of the shennagans the supermarkets are up to to make a quick buck...

The Dispatches prog' last night highlighted the misleading information on the supermarket "FRESH FISH" counter.
The small print on the individual price tags show that the fish had been previously frozen - therefore they are not "FRESH FISH"...
In addition there is no traceability on prawns from Bangladesh - they were shown being farmed in sewage contaminated pens - eeugh!!!
No more supermarket prawns for me...
No more supermarket fish for me... I only wish this current drought of shore fish would end, then I can catch my own - really fresh...

By the way - I hope everyone on this site and all of your mates have signed onto Hugh's fishfight...
