Me,Geordie and Colin decided to give Hury a shot as our first fly fishing session of the season. Not a good day as the wind was cold, I struggled all day ending up with 1 fish, Colin caught 8 and returned 4 and Geordie had six and had the biggest fish of the day at 3 1/2lb.Line used Airflo Delta Clear Intermediate Slow Glass, The flies used, Hot tail Dawson Olive, Orange Fritz and the one that did all the damage was a Yellow Fritz. Found out at the end of the day that they were using short leaders of about 6' where I was using a 11' leader so wondering if this was my problem.

thanks for your report m8 i can see many have viewed your report but deserves a pat on the back for been out trying cheers m8 im yet to try out a new type of fishing soon ;)

Weather not to bad. A lot out fishing.
Back on Monday 14th 8am till 5pm again 2 for 2.8 & 1,8
Was foggy & damp all day, Don’t think there was much caught.
Pease & quite was good , Not many braving the fog though

Well done for getting out. My mate was at the Derwent and he got a couple on worm.
Was going to go today but me and my mate are fishing the river tomorrow llooking for flatties.
Unsure of the cost for Derwent for a day now but i think its going to nudge £24. So i went to the gym where cost is £17 per month.
I will be back at Derwent though.
Mick.

You are not far wrong on the price Mick, it's £23 a day and when you put the price of petrol into the equation it can be an expensive day out.
