sad day for me

A sad day indeed, Sless.

It's always been a tackle shop (dunno if it's always been ID), ever since I can remember.

Mind you - I remember somebody posting a while ago about the new "megga" ID opening and (if I remember rightly), posting some pix of the new shop. I wondered at the time if it would mean that the days of their little shop in Shields were numbered.......looks like they were, unforunately. :(

I remember it was Welchies when I was a kid and then McDougalls. Fond memories of going in there with my dad and our kid, and also Aggis's in Fredrick Street and that tackle shop that use to be in Boldon Lane next to Charlie Bates pork shop, can't remember what it was called but all my pocket money went in there.

Is`nt there a NEW Tackle Shop Opening though - i thought i had heard something about dean Rd - just up from the Chi

Could be wrong mind you , i normally am

Kevin will be working at the new shop at Byker.

I remember going in when I was a kid with my dad and dream of owning one of the white glass fibre 10foot pier rods with the plastic handles like bike handlebar grips and going in with my mate to buy a packet of ragworm scraps which would last hours down at the mill dam. Sweet memories.

Them were the days

Them were the days

Thats going back a bit Rob! I bet you could get a bag of tatties , a bottle of milk, loaf of bread for a quid and stil have enough change left for a wagon wheel then!

aye Kevin will be OK - pleased for him ,but the Bloke in the pie shop on ocean road is devastated on his relocation to the north side - as are the bakers who supply the pies
