Identity please.

Likewise, I rarely bother with WSF these days - nearly all plums on there. Well done again, it'd be great if the lad gets his record verified.

Gary :)

Congratulations to your son and yourself on this very rare catch and from the Rathouse of all places. I sincerely hope it is a record and hopefully this will keep your son interested in fishing forever. A friend of mine caught a wrasse today at shields and it made our day. Fishing is a great sport that can be enjoyed by all.

Have mentioned what bait you caught it with, if not! can you please? I'm sure everyone will be keen to know.

Regards Rushy

Hi Rushy,
He started on the roker pier, fishing for mackerel. He then used the mackerel he caught to use at the rathouse. He used the white belly, cutting into strips. So his bait cost him nowt. :D
Also well done on catching the wrasse.

Glad to read that you hadnt gutted it or ate it, apparently theyre really bony anyway!
I really hope that the young lad gets his record, as Tadpoleman says theres a lot involved and it took him years to get his ratified but it will be worth it in the end. In the meantime i would be contacting the magazines and papers and getting his name in lights and you never know he may get some prizes aswell.

Best of luck with the fish.
I know Sea Angler haave a junior catch sction and it might be worth e-mailing a picture to the editor Mel Russ. I sent have sent a few in.
Best wishes Mick.
ps hope it is verified as a record.

It'll be definitely something to be proud of, if he does get the record. People have told me he should enter the competitions for 'fish of the week' etc in the fishing magazines, to try and win some fishing tackle. He'll have me going to the newsagents tomorrow buying all the fishing mags on the shelves. :D

The Greater Forked Beard Also known as – "Sweaty Betty"!!!!! is one of the best fish in Irish waters – it lives in huge number just West of the Aran islands, and is completely sustainable,
great name ha ha

well done to your young un Pazza, and forget whet the numpties on WSF say, have had dealings with them before, they let anybody print anything, think I am now of their christmas card list, tried to log on the other day, my logon details where not accepted.

Congrats to your boy, fantastic!

I too have given up on WSF, full of bullies who spend more time on their computers, slagging off others, than actually fishing. NESA is a great site with really kind and helpful anglers. So glad I joined.

well pleased for your son mate cracking catch for him lets hope he gets his record he deserves it
cheers

Thanks a lot great advice Bert. Mr Harris came to mine this afternoon to take photos and a chat with Morgan. A real nice man and very knowledgeable.
I've also spoke to Mr Charlton via PM and he's told me to keep in touch, which i intend to.
The fish was weighed at Andy's shop and said the scales had just been calibrated and gave me a signed verification. I know it's the BRFC verification that counts, but their scales arn't going to be any different from Andy's.
As for entering comps in mags, i think i'm going to need your help as how to go about it if you don't mind, or you can PM me.

I'd like to thank everyone for their continuing best wishes to our Morgan. ;)

This is the best thread I have read on here for a long time. I hope the lad gets the record as I think it will last for a long time.
I was stumped at its identity when I seen the photos.
Well done.
