to get rid of some of the clutter in my poky little office I have been scanning and saving my tax records which included loads of old recipets etc. How easy it must have been just a few years ago for someone to get your bank details off these if they had been dumped in the bin, which many would have done. On quite a few the whole card number appeared with the start and end dates and on some tax vouchers my sort code was with these details. I now intend to shred every out of date reciept i have.

Aye Alan it's not good mate. If you go to some supermarkets your first few numbers are missing from the receipt and others it is the last few numbers. Not difficult at all to get the whole number if everything is in the bin together.
