Illegal fishing marks...right or wrong?

There will always be accidents involving the experienced, inexperienced, the innocent and of course the
clowns, I had a near miss myself at Cullercoats a long time ago and nearly got cut off and all because the fish started biting just as it was time to leave, "the one last cast scenario"!

I dont fish much in the winter these days but when I do I always check the mark out first either by visiting in daylight or asking people who know the mark and stick to their advice, or both.

I'm too old and fat to run away from rogue waves these days, so if it looks dodgey I go home and have a nice cup of tea.

Hendon was deemed unsafe as it has no safety rail. Sundserland South pier is classed unsafe for the same reasons. Seaham pier can only be fished if you are a member of Seaham Angling club. It is thier resposibility to make sure it is safe to fish and they alone must accept responsibility if someone has an accident.
Wherever we fish we are all resposnible for our own safety and all I can say is, if there are signs put up saying it is unsafe to fish, then dont do it.
Use some common sense and fish safely everyone. Good mates are hard to find so lets keep the ones we have and not lose them through a lack of judgement or common sense.
