Can anyone help...?

..I just need to know a way to thicken up the spigot joint on my old Conoflex DC rod. It fits together too slack and moves about when Im using it.

Think I read something about dripping wax onto the connection in Sea Angler few years back.... Any ideas?;)

Loose Joint.

Loose Joint.

DON'T use paint or varnish this will cause it to bond together. Try rubbing the male section with a candle, this sometimes works.
Tight Lines, Sam.

you can get a buildup spray like has beeen posted, a company called maver produce it, its used for building up spigots on poles that have worn so should work with a rod, wax does work but if you use the rod on a hot day ( stop laughing) then you often find the joint is a swine to take apart

If it's really slack and the spray doesn't do the job then the final solution is to carefully saw a quarter of an inch off the female part of the spigot. Obviously making sure you re-whip this part of the joint before you use the rod again.
It's not difficult and it does work but try the spray first.

Thanks again for the advice lads. Just been to the hardware store to buy "four candles". Took me ages to get the geezer to understand what I meant, like:p
