Im not happy!

Hi all
as the title suggests im not a happy chappy
filled my multi with brand new red ice and was out at the weekend with it
and got hung up and noticed some of my line was damaged on the retrieve back in you could hear and feel it going threw the top rod eye horrible!!!
was thinking about leaving it in but thought better incase it snapped with god forebid a fish on or damaged my rod tip
luckily the damaged line was only about 50yds into the spool and its a big spool so i can live with that iknow its part and parcel but its frustrating at times!!
wondering if any of you lads have had the same experiances with line or brand new gear thats nakkerd on the first outing

Many times mate, it's all part of the game. Ah once reelined on ss and before letting rip had a practice chuck into the river, i got a small overrun and by the time I got it sorted which was only a couple of seconds I was snagged up, so back to the drawing board with another reline. From that day my practice chucks are always seaward. ha ha. live and learn I suppose

Seagull flew into my line once and pulled my brand new zziplex primo out of the stand onto the pier and broke 3 rings first time I used it.Was many years ago and am over it now,I think ,lol.

you could feel it dropping in a hole and getting snagged up

Tears in the eyes spring to mind there mate same as when i let me rod slip with my brand new swedish blue elite on and it got a tiny chip out of the side plate paint, totally devastated and just couldn't live with it, so much that I went and bought a brand new side plate at canny expense and was lucky to get a one.

Aye mate got this 30lb line from I.d every cast crack off even thoght was my rod so changed rod happened gane thoght was reel changed reel same Afta same ;(

Unless you are just lobbing 40 or 50yds you should use a shockleader.
A cracked off lead hitting someone isn,t funny.......

remember years ago when my rod was new a lad cast over me snagged me line and dragged my rod along the metal barrier for about 15ft till it hit the post then it started to lean over the barrier till i got it before it went over was shouting at the guy to stop winding but the idiot keep on even though he could see it all happing
still got the marks on the rod to this day but it gives the rod character

I was fishing on Sunday the night before I thought I would load the two reals I was taken with me with new line, to cut a long story short I fished for 6 hours and I got snagged u that many time I used up all the new line on both reals and lost about 10 rigs and weights wasn't happy lol

ohhhhh hope it wasnt expensive line bud i was nearly in tears over me red ice but thats only a fiver a spool would like to think you didnt used top whack lines i always take loads of riggs when i go mate you never no! fished in the same spot twice first time not a snagg anywheres but the second visit snaggs all over

the line wasnt that cheap :-( it was daiwa tournament monofil 25lbs .i have fished the same spot a few times and never lost any gear aswell , im fishing on thursday wont be going back there lol i had about 30 rigs with me so that wasnt too bad, i had extra line with me to re spool my reel but i had enought by then lol

Scotty m8 you should be ashamed not using shock lead as the line you put on your reel could be weak when you cast and that is how many crack offs happen as i have bought new reels of line to fill up my multipliers and found out it was faulty but sharp learned to use shock lead.

I foolishly lay my rod on the pier one sesh and me mate decided to walk over it squashing 3 rings in the process, it probably wouldn't of been so bad if he hadn't weighed 30 stone like. I wasn't happy.

same thing happend to me mate and it was also with brand new red ice,1st cast had been in water for a while so brung it in to rebait,no tension on the line at all and line just snapped,thought it must of sliced on a rock or summit,clean cut,felt for any abrasion,none,so cast back out where i knew it was clean ground,on retrieve it snapped again,thought it was my top eye cracked or summit and line was cutting on it but it wasnt,stripped line off reel and il never use red ice again
