imax reel seats

Don't think the IMAX gets good reviews but I have a abu and find it spot on you have to have the correct size I think they come in 3 sizes

its the top collar that parts from the threads , leaving the collar jammed on the reel . could just be an old well used seat im using , the coaster idea on the imax looks to be just what im after ....

There cheap tat if your after a coaster reelseat either make your own from fuji seat and uk hooks coaster or buy complete from uk hooks.that would be my advice.

i thought that , £3.65 cant be upto much . think i might just buy a pair of 28mm coasters , they'd do for all my rods ..

no mate there not.coasters are great but i think take some getting used to better off with a sliding coaster reelseat that too should fit all your rods(if there all same diameter;))

just like mick says they are not that good fuji all the way and your dead right about the collars on the abu 1 ,s but must admit they have got to be the most comfortable on the market mind the newer type abu,s seem abit better as they have moved the metal band on the collar forward or back can,t remember which way but time will tell

I got one of the 28mm imax seats as it is slightly bigger than the century reel seat. I was struggling to get a smaller seat than the penn reel seat for my Mk 1 wr300. The first time I used it the bloody thing snapped right at the coaster as I was tightening the reel on to the rod.
I eventually contacted Century regarding the problem I was having as their 28mm reel seat would not fit the Wr300 they said that they could ream out their seat and hopefully it will fit which it did, they were extremel helpfull
