Indian restaurant

We have been looking around for a restaurant to go to, when we are down in the Summe, for Lynn's birthday. We found "One Spice" in South Shields which Lynn fancies as it is the only restaurant she has ever seen with naga(ghost) chillies on the menu.

Just wondered if anyone has been to this restaurant and what they thought of it please?

The himalaya in whitley bay will make a meal as HOT as you can eat ;-);-)

there's good curry house's in every town.

if your ever up blyth al be glad to meet up and take you 2 the award winning panahar, a go no further.

Try the Cafe Bangla in East Boldon, they use fresh Naga/Scotch bonnets in certain curries.
Just make sure any restaurant are using fresh chillies, got a meal not too long ago in Asian Road and it was pickled chillies they used - spoilt the meal and sent it back.
Have had lots of sitty downs and delivered and cannot fault them tel -0191 5190929.

think the raj is better like, not on ocean road, just off fowler street.

If yer after a carry out or home delivery Bill Quay tandoori is excellent

heard about aneesa by work colleagues . is it any good ? when i lived in newcastle i used to go to curry hell/capital dont know if thats still open ...

Aneesa - I have been once but note if you drink alcohol you have to bring your own as it is not licensed. You do have to pay 'corkage' for any alcohol you open.

The meal is great and I could not fault it. It is buffet style and you can help yourself to any amount of starters, curries, rice or breads. My only complaint, if it is a complaint, is you come out totally stuffed and unable to move unless you regulate the amount that you eat.

The radhuni at the top of ocean road in south sheilds is the best I've been to.

I second the Raj in Burrow street been going every Saturday night for years, just tell them how you want it cooked and they do it.

from £3.50 they are a massive fistfull & well worth every penny.
Ring in your order & have it waiting to save fishing time, only 2mins from
Jarra' riverside park lol.

N.b. not recommended to be eaten with ragwormy fingers lol......

For a sitdown my vote goes to Aneesa's @ Laygate S/Shields, pace yourself
and you can taste at least a dozen different currys as they swap the menu
round as they top up the main course curry pots. As long as you don't leave
loads of waste on your plate you can go back over & over again, get a new plate
every time and enjoy a course without having to have a jumble-sale of flavours
all squashed together in one heap.

Aneesa has also opened in Newcastle. Same owner, but this one is bigger, has more choice's, and is licenced.

Spice one at the nook, excellent curry & first class service but the last time we were there the portions were tiny so the only way to fill up was to order loads of side dishes (which also were small).

Quality yes, but not good value imo.
