Hi guys, i would like to know if there is a difference between the BUTT Sections of the PRIMO SYNCRO and PRIMO FULL TORNI and if so what the difference is, also how much a second hand butt section is worth/would cost to buy or how much i should expect to pay for a good second hand one?

I have a Primo (ordinary) and would like to make it into heavy ground rod. I have been told that changing the butt section to a stiffer one would do this :)

Thank you to everyone for their very valuble knowledge,

This thread should now be CLOSED unless someone has a very cheap syncro or ft butt section for sale ;););)

Kind Regards, Mambo:)

Primo Synchro /FT are power pointed

An additional wrap of carbon at the high hand position (roughly 15" long)

Thank you LED (Andy) for the info, so i take it that either a synco / ft butt section would make my primo (normal) into a heavy ground rod  regargs, Steve. :) PS my son is called Andy Miller ( nice name m8 ) :D

Hi Steve, the tip on the Primo is firm but not as firm as I'd want on a rough ground rod.
Look for a 2nd hand XTR - these have nmore than enough beef (butt/middle & tip) for rough ground work for the NE marks (kelp and rocks) and casts just like a Primo ;)

Shame about your lad having the same name  perhaps he might eclipse me as a caster when he adds a few years

unashamed plug

looks like the xtr i have is back up for sale as i have heard nothing from prospective buyer since before christmas

close too :D

Aw thats a shame baz i just bought lt14 dymic evo last week and once again LED thanx for the advice ps my son needs casting lessons so do i LOL :D

I do give tuition, however as I live on the outskirts of the M25 the travelling costs (either way) might make it a tad expensive :o

There are some great casters in the NE area, many of which post on this forum.

Anyone out there able to help ??
